Tattoo machine grips, how to choose a tattoo grip
Grips are divided according to the type of needles, because it is from the beak placed in the grips that the needle is held and stabilized. Cartridge grips do not have to be matched to the type of needle, because they are universal. The opposite is true in the case of grips for classic needles. When buying grips, pay attention to whether they are reusable or disposable. Reusable ones will be made of metal, while disposable ones will be made of plastic or rubber.
Tattoo beaks and tubes –– various types of tattoo beaks and tubes
There are disposable tattoo beaks and reusable ones. Reusable tattoo beaks can come in two versions:
With a long tube going through the entire grip
With a short beak mounted on one side of the grip
The diameter of the grips is defined in millimeters from 15 to 40 mm. When choosing beaks, tubes and grips for tattoos, let's be guided by this parameter, trying to match it to the size of the hand. For small hands, a smaller diameter will be best, but remember that the larger the diameter, the less the hand gets tired during long work. If you are not sure, we recommend taking a medium grip. Choose a grip with the same marking (size) as the needles.
How to choose the right beak for a tattoo needle?
Matching the tips and grips to the needles is not difficult at all. We distinguish tattoo beaks:
R (Round) - for round needles
F (Flat) - for flat needles. They can be OF (open) or CF (closed).
D (Diamond). For round needles.
